With an abundance of opportunities in amazing locations all over the world, I am certain that you will find hospitality management to be one of the most exciting, diverse, and rewarding and fastest changing careers in the world. If you share my love of challenges and my passion for hospitality, then I know you will go far.
During my education in England and Greece, my career as an hotelier around the world and over ten years of teaching in the hospitality field, I found that many hospitality management graduates were entering the industry unprepared. The hospitality industry changes at lightning speed and it's difficult for older, conventional institutions to adjust their programs quickly enough. Not only are they set in their ways, but also many of their classes are filled with non-hospitality students and not focused specifically on hospitality. This dilutes the focus of the class and further hinders their ability to follow the fast-changing trends of the industry. The result for hospitality students coming out of these classes is that they are behind the times, and have almost no hands-on training in hospitality related fields such as the culinary arts or wine %36 spirits. This leaves them helpless when it comes to managing a restaurant, bar, or banquet, three essential areas in the profession.
I knew there had to be a better way.
When I learned that PCI was creating a new program from the ground up, I jumped at the chance to be part of this amazing institution. Finally, you'll create a complete business plan for your own hotel, restaurant, or hospitality business of your choice, which you will then present to potential employers at our employment expo.
