| Ten years ago, Danae Mclaughlin began her culinary career working in various positions before realizing her dream of opening her own family-style Italian restaurant in 2003. After a successful three year run, she sold the business to pursue another longstanding dream of attending culinary school.
Danae received her formal training at PCI, where she graduated with honors in June, 2007. She was the recipient of the Burt Cutino Award for Outstanding Culinary Student.
Upon graduation from PCI, Danae has gone on to compete in several ACF competitions where she won two Silver medals and one Gold medal.
Currently, Danae works as the Kitchen Manager at the Harker School in San Jose, California. During the school's summer break, she works in other kitchens such as the Shoreline Amphitheater where she cooked for various artists including Gwen Stephani, Neil Young, Steve Miller and Lynyrd Skynyrd. This summer she worked with Chef David Kinch at Manresa's, a two Michelin star restaurant located in Los Gatos, CA.
Danae's latest achievements are completing her C.E.C. exam this past May and serving as Certification Chair for the Santa Clara Chapter of the American Culinary Federation. |
