HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO COMPETE FOR SCHOLARSHIPS IN AN IRON CHEF-STYLE COMPETITION
Campbell, California, March 31, 2006 -- On May 27, 2006, sixteen high school seniors will face off in an Iron Chef-style cooking competition. The stakes: over $36,000 in scholarships to the Professional Culinary Institute, the fastest way to a world-class culinary education.
The Professional Culinary Institute (PCI) invites all 2006 high school graduates with a passion for cooking to step out of the classroom and straight into one of our state-of-the-art kitchens. PCI will be awarding one full tuition scholarship to the top competitor of our May 27, 2006 High School Scholarship Competition. Second place will receive a $10,000 scholarship and third place a $5,000 scholarship for classes beginning in the 2006 academic year. Plus, every student who successfully completes the application process will receive a $100 gift certificate for one of PCI's popular weekend hobby classes.
All applications must be postmarked by May 09, 2006 and can be picked up from the school or found online at www.pcichef.com. Each submission must include a completed scholarship application form, a 250-word essay, and photos of the three-course meal the competitor intends to prepare for the competition. Submissions will be judged based on creativity, content, presentation, and organization. A maximum of 16 competitors will be selected to compete. Submissions should be sent to:
